Think Pink 2010

*phew*
I really thought I wouldn't make it this year!
My entry to the "Think Pink" contest, to support the Breast Cancer Awareness.
The last 2 years I joined the contest with digital arts, so this year I wanted to give a try on traditional medias.

I wanted to bring out with this art, first of all the color pink and the woman figure... a feminine color and woman's cause.

The water on the bottom symbolizes the passing of life... how no matter what happens, life will go on, and we must make the best of it. How we must never give up and follow our "current", and believe that it will always lead us to the best destiny.

The ribbon, is the symbol of the campaign, and I made it around the girl, showing how a cancer and it's treatment become a sort of circle in the lives of the patients... it's always harder in the beginning, a shock like a splash of cold water, but with strength to carry on, we can find ourselves higher and higher in the path to healing.

Love is the most important thing at these moments. Love from our family and friends, it's something we carry with us in the end, that's why the ribbon turns into all the many hearts that follow our journey and show their support.

And finally the angel, representing a rising above the cancer, the healing.

Sorry if it's all a bit too much, I had this concept for a long time. I hope you all enjoy the message!
